Boca Beth

When I first heard about the opportunity to review the Boca Beth CDs I said no.  I thought it was a CD to help me learn Spanish.  As someone who has a hard enough time speaking English correctly (and its the one and only language I know), I knew there was no help for me to learn a second.  But, then I found out these were geared towards kids and I jumped on the opportunity. I wasn't really sure how receptive my kids would be towards these.  They have their favorites and its hard to sometimes get them to expand to new ones.  So, the first night I suggested we go to their room and they could dance and listen to the CD while I put away laundry.  We put in My First Songs in Spanish The CD was a hit from the first song.  The music is very catchy and easy for kids to dance and sing along with.  My oldest daughter asked if they could listen to it as their bedtime CD.  The next morning, my daughter turned the CD back on as soon as they got up.  When I went to get them out of their room, my two year old looked at me and said hola.  I was truly shocked and amazed that after one night I heard this coming from her.  I was instantly sold on the CD. Since then, this Cd has not come out of their Cd player.  In a few short weeks, my 5 year old has memorized most of the songs in both English and Spanish.  We listen to the Sing Praise for Children in the car all the time.  My 2 year old has really caught on to this Cd.  I wasn't really sure if she was actually learning from the songs, or just learning to sing along with them.  One day, when we were in the house she was singing parts of one of the song.  I heard her say amigo, so I asked her what that word meant and she told me friend.  I"ve decided I will probably ask for some of the DVD's as gifts for my girls.  The CD's are awesome, so I"m sure the DVD's will be a great learning experience for them as well.  I have already told a few friends about these Cd's and even they are as impressed as I am.  The Cd's are priced right and a great introduction to this wonderful product line. Boca Beth Teaches Spanish

Saturday, November 1st, 2008
My children have been introduced to the Spanish language already (their dad speaks a little because he spent some time in Guatemala and, of course, Dora the Explorer), but when the opportunity came to review these CD's I jumped at the chance.  They love language and they love music.  What a great combination!  And we are homeschoolers! The first time I played them, my toddler was dancing and bouncing right along with the music.  He got his older sister into it right away too.  So, the music is a hit!  Catchy and dance-worthy.  The comment I heard about the words, was that it was too fast.  K (7yo) likes to catch the words and use them.  Keep in mind, this was during the first time we'd ever heard this media.  She's quick to judge.  That night they requested that the CD's be played on their stereo in their room while they were falling asleep. Some other notes:  environmentally friendly packaging.  tasteful advertising on the cases.  winner of some prestigious parent awards.  English and Spanish lyrics included and also found on the website. Overall, Boca Beth has done an incredible job with these great resources.  Check out her other products - including one that teaches sign along with the Spanish!  Seriously looking at that one as another great teaching resource!!!
