Shi Shu Baby

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009
The Shi Shu Baby blanket is by far the best baby blanket I have ever used. I got the Lemon color one. It is a beautiful color. The blanket is a very nice size, it is 30" by 40. It is handwoven. The trim on the blanket is 100% bamboo sateen. It is the softest material just perfect for a little baby to snuggle up to and have a perfect rest. My two year old loves the blanket, She has claimed the blanket as her own. She grabbed it back from my 5 year old when it was nap time and the older one was trying to cuddle with it. I was able to wrap the two year old up like a burrito in the blanket. I wrapped my two week old nephew in it when he was over the other day and it was perfect for his 7 pound body. You can purchase this beautiful blanket that is made only of natural fibers at www.shishustyle.com

The Lucky One

Friday, November 28th, 2008
The Lucky One by Nichols Sparks had me drawn in from the moment I started reading about U.S. Marine Logan Thibault. Being a wife of a former Marine it just made me want to read about Logan. The idea that Logan and his dog Zeus would walk from Colorado to North Carolina makes your first impression on them seem strange but if you keep reading you end up falling in love with Logan and hope that he finds what is looking for. This is the first time I had ever read a book by Nicholas Sparks but I had seen many movies that were made from his book with out even knowing it. I can't wait to read more of his books. Including my all time favorite movie The Notebook. If you love clean romance and some suppense this book is for you.

Fancy Nancy’s Favorite Fancy Words

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008
Fancy Nancy's favorite words from Accessories to Zany is written by Jane O'Conner and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser. This book has a sparkly cover that attracted my 7 and 5 year old girls right away. Mommy loved the book too but not because of the pictures but because having a 1st grader and pr-k girls they are always mommy what this is and whats that. We all sat down and read the book and they immediatly started using some of the other words. This is such a pretty girly book perfect for any  little princess. It has now become a regular book asked for in our house during reading time.

Who Lives In The Rainforest?

Monday, November 24th, 2008
This is a Fisher Price book with flaps on each page that show you the animal that is being talked about. The pictures are bright and colorful enough to keep the attention of a baby all the way up to my almost 2 year old. She loved lifting the flaps and discovering the elephant, giraffe, toucan, monkey, butterflyand the tiger. But the monkey was her favorite one. Fisher Price yet again did a awesome job.

Ears,Nose & Toes

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008
Ears,Nose & Toes is a Fisher Price book with a built in stroller strap so that when baby decided to throw it down mommy or daddy dont have to keep picking it up. That in it self made me love this book. But also my youngest loved this book. She is just starting to like books and this book had the cutest pictures in it of animals and babies with different body parts. It renforces what we have been trying to teach her and she has even started pointing to her nose and eyes when we say them. Very cute book.

The Miracle Girls

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008
The Miracle Girls was written by Anne Dayton and May Vanderbilt. This was a well written book prefect for any teenage girl. It is about 4 girls that all get detention on the same day and when the teacher makes them pair up into group these four land together. They were all completely opposite on the outside but only to find out that they had all survived something. They had each had a miracle in there life. One of the girls,Zoe thought it was a sign and was determined that even the cheer leader Riley needed to be in the group even though she didnt wan't to be. In this book they all end up becoming friends but not with out some struggles in between. You can visit there website at www.faithwords.com

Engaging Father Christmas

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008
Engaging Father Christmas is written by Robin Jones Gunn. This book is about a woman named Miranda who grew up with no family. She never really celebrated Christmas besides the normal work gift exchange. All she new about her father was that he was Father Christmas in a play. In this book she has already discovered who her Father was and that he had passed away. While in Carlton Heath She meets Ian a Scotsman. She falls in love with him and her Father's family and just wants to be accepted by them. This was a very sweet book with a romantic story in there along with forgivness and acceptance. It really  reminded me what the real meaning of Christmas is. My favorite part would be when Miranda's niece and nephew are visiting Ian's dad in the hospital and decided to give all there christmas presents to the little kids that have to be stuck in the hospital during the holidays. I would suggest reading both Finding Father Christmas and Engaging Father Christmas together.

Sikulu & Harambe

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Sikulu & Harambe: By The Zambezi River is an african version of the Good Samaritan story. This book is written by Kunle Oguneye and illistrated by Bruce McCorkindale. It is about a spider and a Hippo that over come there fears together and help save an old womans clothes that were lost in the river. I loved this book. I didn't even read it to my kids yet but it is the cutest little story and I think my two year old all the way up to my seven year old will enjoy this book. I loved all the infomation in the back of the book on Africa and the glossary of words, names and places. I wanted to be a missionary to africa when I was a little girl and hope with this book to pass along to my girls the love for africa and it's people. Also this book is the first in a series of books that feature Sikulu & Harambe.

Three Steps to Decluttering

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
This little mini book is the perfect size to read with tons of good info in it. It is written by Beverly Coggins. It is part of the 1-2-3 ...get organized series. It gives you step by step instruction that will have you running to organize that dreaded room or rooms in your house that you even hate to go into. A lot of books on organization are just to long that by the time you are done reading it u don't have the energy or the want to do it anymore. But not this book I am ready as soon as I am done writing this to get busy on my bedroom, can't wait to put some of her ideas to good use.If you are interested in this book or any of her other ones the website is www.1-2-3GetOrganized.com

My Very own potty

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
This is a book by fisher price. It is well written my 21 month old daughter read this book and she is not really into books yet and sat the whole time with me eyes glued to this book. She loved it. This was a very well written book on becoming a big girl and using the potty instead of a diaper. The book even tells the child that its ok to have accidents but that with time and practice she will be wearing big girl underwear and going potty on the toilet all the time. Can't wait to continue reading this book to her and start the potty training with her.
