Rainforest Choo Choo

My W, 20 months, loves this book.  I read it over and over to him this evening!  To him everything that has wheels is a car, but we're learning about trains too.  And animal sounds.  We learned about monkeys and frogs tonight, among others.  The pictures have a lot in them.  I found it a little overwhelming but W didn't seem to mind.  He loved the bright colors and the little mommies with their babies.

Rainforest Choo Choo {Fisher Price} by Jasmine Elist and Sue Hendra

Fisher Price Rainforest Choo Choo is designed for babies 6 months and older.  This eye-catching board book is loaded with bright colors and shaped like a train resting on 4 sturdy cardboard wheels which turn.  I can’t wait to watch my youngest grandson, Sam, discover that the book can stand upright on its own and watch him drive it across the floor on its wheels. This is no ordinary farm animal book.  A pair of giraffes guide the choo choo through the sights and sounds of the rainforest.  Adult and child animal pairs are everywhere making this a special book to customize by the reader.  The adult animal could be Mommy, Daddy, Auntie or even a special Grandma J spending time with their special baby. The train trip ends at a spectacular water park!  Toot! Toot! The train ride is about to begin again.  All aboard!

Discovering Sounds (Fisher-Price) By Jasmine Elist
  Rainforest Choo Choo is a delightful board book by Fisher Price, another in the Animals of the Rainforest series.  Take a train ride through the rainforest and see, hear and collect different jungle animals!  This is a very bold, bright colorful book and it even has rolling wheels on it!  WOO HOO! or should I say TOOT TOOT!   My two year old daughter loved this book and really enjoyed repeating the names of the animals and making the appropriate sounds with me.  I took advantage of the use of all the bright colors to name and point them out.  My daughter also loved that every animal introduced had a baby.   Not only can you read this book with your child but he/she can also play with it.  This book will make a great addition to the library on any child ages six months to about three.
