By Samara O'Shea
When I read this book it made me want to journal again. I haven't in about twenty years! Being a mother of six it is difficult to make the time. I also fear that someone may read it! Now, because of this book, I've come to realize the beauty of opening yourself up onto the page, and how enlightening it is. I’m still nervous about someone reading it though!
This book guides you through exercises that will help you put your thoughts and feeling down on paper. The author features excerpts from the author's journals; including: Anne Frank, Sylvia Plath, Joyce Carol Oates and others.
The book is very sweet and open. Samara O'Shea completely exposed herself and her journal in order to guide us through the process of journaling for ourselves. This is a very good book for anyone who wants to journal or even a gift for a loved one who journals or would like to.
If you’ve ever picked up a pen to write a letter to someone who has just broken your heart or just to jot down just how amazing that first kiss was, this is the book for you.Putting pen to paper is what the blogging world is doing in a very public venue, yet when many of us think of keeping a diary it’s a very private matter. O’Shea walks the reader through using journaling to not only record their life, but to learn from their past. She uses thought provoking questions, excerpts from her own and other’s journal entries along with numerous quotes throughout the book. This is a quick read, but makes you get to writing and jotting down thoughts, if only in a random way. Pick this book up and grab a Journal along the way.
I just finished reading Note to Self by Samara O'Shea. This book is about keep a journal, diary or really anything you want to call it. Samara goes into detail with her life and shares some of her past journals. She really made me want to grab a notebook and start writing a journal.
I had a diary at sixteen till the guy I had a major crush on for years little sis found it and told all our friends and him and it was such a big joke to them . But the auther made me realize so what is that really a reason to never put my thoughts to paper again. I could hardly put it down it was such a great book.
