Big Words for Little People

What a lot of big and useful words in this very educational book by Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell.  My girls are 6 and 7 and are interested in learning what a lot of words mean.  The words in this book are ones they need to know.  I'm sure to hear them in the near future, as they gain a better understanding of the vocabulary given in this brightly illustrated book.  They love to use big words!

Although I liked the words that were explained in the book, I found that the rhythm was really hard to read.  The rhyming was there, but I couldn't "get in the groove" of the wording.  Maybe it was just me.

Disclosure: This book was graciously sent to me by HarperCollins Publishing.

Big Words for Little People is the eighth book by author (and star) Jamie Lee Curtis and Artist Laura Cornell.

It introduces important words to kids like, “privacy”, "considerate", "inappropriate", “cooperation”, "responsibility", and “patience.” This book is a terrific tool and conversation starter as well. A wonderfully engaging story and very, very clever way to introduce new words.

My favorite is the page for “consequence”, where a little girl caught blowing bubbles in class has to stay in her dreary classroom while everyone else enjoy recess in the colorful, exciting playground.

I absolutely love this book and am now on the lookout to add the rest of this dynamic team's books to our family library.

Other Books by Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell:

Today I Feel Silly: And Other Moods That Make My Day I’m Gonna Like Me : Letting Off a Little Self-Esteem It’s Hard to Be Five : Learning How to Work My Control Is There Really a Human Race?

Big Words For Little People was a really cute book written by the national best selling team, Jaime Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell. My five year old and I read this book together and she loved it. I loved it because my five year old has hard time expressing herself and this book gave her the words to use when she frustrated, happy or when she does something bad that there are consequence's. This book is very well written and the picture's are very colorful to keep the kids interested. My dd sat thru this whole book when its Impossible to get her to sit still for 2 mins. I can't wait till I read this to my seven year old I know she is gonna love this book to. Right now it is my 5 year olds favorite book to read.
