This little book is so sweet! Teaching simple body parts using baby faces and matching drawings. My 22 month old son likes this book a lot and in a few months my newborn will too. The book has a stroller strap that does not interfere with the turning of the pages or with the story itself.

I love the simplicity of this book.  Simple pictures.  Bright.  Simple phrases.  Repeatable.  Clear language.  Simple.  And then the tactile elements!  Although I would not consider them to be very realistic (taking into consideration that I've never actually touched the animals in the book in real life, so that's just an opinion) they do offer a different aspect to the book and a different passage of learning.  The book teaches color, texture words, and jungle animals.  Easily added to these concepts would be sounds the animals make and shape words.

This book has so much teaching potential for growing babies.  I love that in a baby board book.  From wheels to turn (fine motor skills) to counting, colors, shapes, and numbers the author has captured real everyday life in very simple terms for the very young baby.  The bright and simple illustrations are not too busy for the youngest child and yet are involved enough to interest even a two year old.

With this clip that comes on the book it can easily be clipped to the stroller, carseat or grocery cart. This is a perfect size and she can't lose it! She loves the babies and the animals. Fisher-Price: The World Around Me: By Alexis Barad

This is an adorable book, bright, colorful, cheery with a spin wheel.  We counted  change and identified colors in a piggy bank; counted letters in a mailbox; called different animals on our phone; identified different shapes of cookies; named tools in our toolbox; Counted bird playing in the bird bath; identified the colors of our pans on the stove; figured out what time it is on the clock; and visited with three friends!   Wow, so much activity!

Your baby or toddler will enjoy spinning the wheels in this interactive board book. My two year old keeps kidnapping it! 

This board book also seems very durable, even the wheel. This is bright colorful fun, yet again from Fisher Price!

The World Around Me by Alexis Barad, one of the board books in Fisher-Price’s Laugh, Smile, & Learn series, explores colors and numbers using a “turn to learn” wheel on each page.  What color are the coins in the piggy bank? What tools are in the tool box? How many letters are in the mailbox? Turning the wheel gives three different views and another window has the answer.  There are nine questions / interactive activities.  We had a lot of fun exploring the activities and my two year old really enjoyed the book, even though it is geared for little ones as young as 6 months.  I like that it uses very familiar things in a baby’s / toddler’s world.
