The Factor Tree

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

Through Bzz Agent, A website that promotes products via word of mouth advertising, I was able to try The Factor Tree. The Factor Tree is a math website geared towards kids in grades PreK thru 6th grade. My daughter, who is in 1st grade and I sat down to check out this website. From a child's perspective, my daughter did not like the website. We have done a few learning website as part of our learning this year. Most website incorporate games into the learning atmosphere, where this one did not. When you first register, you do a evaluation. My daughter gave up on that part and I had to encourage her to finish it. In the end, she said she did not want to do this website anymore and only kept working as long as I required her to. As a mom, I think the initial evaluation was a little long. It seemed to repeat questions and while I understand its gaged to see where you are there were alot of questions that I didn't think was appropriate for 1st grade level (ex. identifying shapes). One thing I did like about the program is it provided a testing atmosphere. I know that my child is really doing math geared items, where some of the websites in the past we have encounter I had my doubts. Overall, I would use this website in our learning, but just would not use it daily. Interested in trying this website out for yourself.  Visit The Factor Tree and enter the code BzzAgent for a free 2 week trial.

Got2B Smooth Operator

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

If you have hair issues, you need this stuff. I recently had the opportunity to try Got2B Smooth Operator Hair Lotion through BzzAgent and fell in love with it. If you have trouble with frizz or flyaways, this stuff is for you. I first tried it on my 3 year old daughter's hair. She has extremely curly hair that is prone to major frizz, espeically along the hair line areas. Not only did this help control the frizz, but it left her hair smelling great. Even a friend who sees her often, noticed how well it helped maintain the frizz and the flyaways. I also used it on my hair. It also provided me with great control with stubborn strands and was great to use before I flat ironed my hair. As I mentioned before, the smell of this product is great, so I enjoyed that as well. Got2b has a whole line of products that comes in very cute, girly looking bottles. Be sure to check your local retailer for their product line.

Children’s Claritin

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

As a mother of 3 girls, we have had to deal with seasonal allergy issues with each child. Right now my youngest 2 are dealing with all the irritations that come with spring. Personally, this has been one of the worst seasons for me, so I can only imagine how much they are suffering.they are suffering just as much. Recently, I had the opportunity to try Children's Claritin through a BzzAgent campaign in a pill form. In the past have always used liquid allergy meds. They all have needed meds at younger ages, so its been easier to dispense.

The things that I liked about the Children's Claritin is that it was easy to dispense. You pop the pill out of the packaging, kid chews and you move on. Also, I liked not having to rinse the dispensing cup out afterwards. One day I forgot to give my kids their meds, so I just simple grabbed a pill and was able to hand it to them in the car.

The few things I didn't like about the Children's Claritin is that I could not give half doses easily. My kids don't always need a full dose of medicine, so I had to cut the pill in half. The other downside is the cost compared to liquid. I usually always have 2 kids on allergy meds at once. The liquid gives you more bang for your dollar compared to the pill form. We went through the box pretty quickly compared to the amount of time it takes us to go through a bottle. Overall, I'm very glad I got the chance to try the pill form. It's something I've been wanting to do, just never stopped to buy. I defintely see it as something we'll use in the future. When my girls are over taking liquid or when we travel and I don't want to drag a bottle.

Swagbucks

Search & Win

Towards the end of last year, I discovered Swagbucks. Since then, I believe if not all, most of us have been using it as our search engine. SwagBucks is a search engine that rewards you swagbucks for doing things such as searching, finding special codes, and viewing offers. You are awarded the form of Swagbucks, which can be traded in for a variety of prizes. My personal favorite is the $5.00 Amazon giftcard. It cost 450 swagbucks and you can order up to 5 of any one giftcard a month (2 per day). My personal goal is to maximize the $25.00 a month in $5.00 Amazon giftcards from January through November in order to have $275.00 to use for Christmas.

You get 30 Swag Bucks for joining and can win anywhere from 20 – 50 Swag Bucks a day. They are awarded randomly, so search like you naturally would. The site is able to detect random fast searching and will issue you a warning. I usually win 2 to 3 times a day, just doing my day to day stuff. I usually win within my first 5 searches. They also put out Swag Codes during the week. They are usually worth the effort of finding.

Other ways to earn is through referrals, signing up for the newsletter (they put codes in there), shopping, trading in old electronics and much more. Sign up today and see what you've been missing.

Loving Pete the Cat’s White Shoes

Monday, March 15th, 2010

51QIFxlQVcL__SL160_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-dp,TopRight,12,-18_SH30_OU01_AA115_Pete the Cat-I love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin, was such a fun book to review. All of my kids (6, 3 & 2) sat and listened to the story and has requested it many times since we received it. The story is very catchy and offers a learning aspect to it as well.

In this story, Pete gets a new pair of shoes. When they get dirty, instead of getting upset or angry, he just changes the words to his song. With each change, his shoes are a new color and the book stresses the color on that page. I found that to be great, as we are working on colors with our youngest right now. I also liked that this book provides a postive outlook to things that us adults would shake our head at. In the end, Pete tells what the moral of the story is, but if you want to know, you have to pick up a copy and find out for yourself.

I received this book from the publisher. The opinions are my own.

No Slippy Hair Clippy

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

bows_payton-spk

As a mom of 3 girls, I jumped all over the chance to try out some new accessories for their hair. All 3 of my girls have curly hair, 2 of them being super curly. We often get compliments on their hair, but even with pretty curly hair, I love to find ways to add that special touch. I received 3 headbands from No Slippy Hair Clippy. They were all very cute pieces, but I was very happy with 2 out of 3 of the pieces.

My oldest daughter received the 5" Daisy headwrap. This is the one that I did not care for, but it may have just been the size she received. She received the girls size, when she probalby only need the 12-48 month size. She is very petite, so her head size may have accomdated the todder size best. This head wrap was to big for her head and did not stay on. I eventually just wrapped it around into a ponytail. She was dissapointed she did not get to wear a headband like her sisters. Other then the sizing factor, the headband was of great quality and very nice.

My younger 2 girls received the Large Sheer Pedel Flower headband in white and the 2" flower w/ sequins in pink. I loved these handbands. They stayed put on my busy toddlers heads. The first time they wore them, we went to church. Afterwards, they headbands were still in place. When my girls were babies, I never used headbands. I didn't like the elastic tight feeling that most baby styles have. These were soft, not tight fitting and I would have loved to had these for my girls hair.

If you looking for that special occasional headband or a few for everyday use, then check out the site. The prices are a little more then what I generally would pay for a headband, but you are paying for quality. These will last you and you will not be dissapointed. There are many of their products that I can put on my wishlist.

Cool Butterfly Prints Fluttered into our home…

Monday, December 7th, 2009
As a household with three girls, butterflies are well used in our bedroom decor. I was excited to have the opportunity to review the Cool Butterfly Prints. I choose a print that looks very similar if not the same as what Ladonna had posted in her review. A white butterfly resting on a grouping of pink flowers.

The picture itself I really liked. It was a beautiful butterfly and I loved the pop of color that came from the pink flowers. The butterfly took up most of the print which was nice. You were able to see more of the smaller details from the flower. The pictures were printed on what appears to be high quality paper. Thick paper, not flimsy and seems as though it will help in preventing bends or wrinkles in the paper. I have tried to not handle the picture outside the paper. The picture was sent in a large stiff envelope which helped prevent any bending or damage during shipping.

My only complaint is that the picture does not to be as clear as I was expecting. I love pictures that have a blur background and this does exhibit some of those features. However, the butterfly and flower which is the mainfocus of the picture does not seem as crisp as I would expect it to be.

I plan on framing this picture and either placing it in my girls bedroom or for my niece's room. The size of the pictures makes for a great centerpiece on a smaller wall. If your looking for a butterfly print to fill that special place on your wall, head over to Cool Butterfly Prints. They have 2000+ prints, so your sure to find one you'll like.
