Todoodlist by Nick Cernis

One day while surfing around for Flylady and GTD ideas I came across a great e-book by Nick Cernis. I put off buying it for several months, but was always intrigued by Nick's blog. When I found out that SSDR was going to be up and running, I decided to contact Nick about his book. Nick is the greatest guy! Thank you so much for all the help, and most importantly for writing your book, it has indeed improved my life in the last week that I have used your principles. Now on to the review...

Todoodlist is one of those books that you want to absorb every single detail, yet it is a quick read. The fact that it didn't take very long to download helped tremendously due to such a slow internet connetion we have here on the farm. Once I opened it, I only walked away for my moleskine and a pencil. Nick shows you how to simplify your To Do List into a doodle of sorts that is very visual. From my week of working with this idea, I have managed a family of 6, college work, homeschooling, housework, and anything else that came up for me to work on. Nick also gives links to help you further simplify your every day life. This is one of those books that no one should ever live without. For 14 USD you can download it in seconds and start your road to a more manageable life. Click here to view more details Buy Now

Note To Self: On Keeping a Journal and Other Dangerous Pursuits. by Samara O’Shea

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

If you’ve ever picked up a pen to write a letter to someone who has just broken your heart or just to jot down just how amazing that first kiss was, this is the book for you. Putting pen to paper is what the blogging world is doing in a very public venue, yet when many of us think of keeping a diary it’s a very private matter. O’Shea walks the reader through using journaling to not only record their life, but to learn from their past. She uses thought provoking questions, excerpts from her own and other’s journal entries along with numerous quotes throughout the book. This is a quick read, but makes you get to writing and jotting down thoughts, if only in a random way. Pick this book up and grab a Journal along the way.

I'm from way down south on the Polka Spot Farm in southern Alabama. My fiance and I have four wonderful kids together. Payton (11) is my tween homeschooling automobile mechanic. Austin (9) is my farm boy strong athlete. Kayla (6) is my bossy, sassy cheerleader and Hunter (6) is her unnatural twin, cartoon character. My fiance Seth (aka. Mr. Sef, Mr. Polka Spot, Huck) is the most loving, understanding, caring truck driver that you will ever run across. We spend a lot of time at the go cart race tracks, football practice, baseball practice and cheer practice. In between I love to cook, sew and knit. I hope that our family can bring a little something extra to yours!
