Here recently I hit a blogging milestone. I completed Kelly McCausey's Blogging Internship. If you have never heard of Kelly, let me tell you a little bit about her. She's a single mom of a teenage son, and internet entrepreneur. Kelly's motto, "Working at home whenever I want.

One of the things that really impressed me with Kelly is that she has created the tools to help mom's work at home.

In today's day in age, blogging is the big thing, right?

A lot of my friends and family look at me like I'm crazy when I mention that I blog. They have no idea what that's about, they just know that I'm internet savvy. Well until this summer, I wasn't nearly as savvy as I am now.

There are mom blogs of every shape and size these days. Mom's of all walks of life are blogging, and I was one of those mom's.

I always felt like I was missing something.

After blogging for quite some time on one platform or the other, with a very little bit of help, decided to go with a self hosted Wordpress site. Of course I ended up blogging on Polka Spot Farm. But what I didn't know is what to do next.

I picked out some cool plugins, a blog designer and just started blindly. I really had no idea what I was doing. It was a shot in the dark. I seriously had no idea what to do when, or where.

I was on twitter, and that was about it. I eventually started a Facebook Fan Page, but I had only a handfull of fans.

Disapointment set in. Was there anyone anywhere that could tell me what to do?!

One day while browsing a forum, I found a link to Kelly. I eventually found something about her internship, read about it and thought wow! I'd love to do that!

I was totally willing to pay to have her coaching materials, which was not nearly as expensive as I thought it was worth. There was a personal coaching option that I would have loved to have signed up for also. Soon I found out that there was a program where in exchange for writing content on the Mom's Talk Network, I could get the most intimate package from for the Blog Internship for free!

I quickly applied for the position, and in no time at all I was contacted by Kelly. There was a phone interview and my first assignment.

In 10 weeks I learned so much. I primarily wrote posts for Family Foodies, but in the end wrote for multiple blogs, helped to brain storm with other interns on topics for their own intern blog (there were up to 12 of us writing for the network at once), learned anything you need to know about social networking.

The thing that I think helped me the most is learning to write on any topic given to me, and making that post look great. Formatting a post can be the most daunting thing for a lot of bloggers, and I'm totally past that now.

If you are like I was, and like a lot of other bloggers out there, and feel like you are missing something, or even that your blog is doing well but you want to polish your skills, I totally reccomend the 10 week Blogging Internship with Kelly McCausey. Now and then she offers this course  in exchange for a lot of hard work, but you can start this course on your own at anytime, even with personal coaching.

Take that step to learning what blogging is all about with the Blogging Internship! You won't regret a thing!
